A Tuscan Family Retreat Reimagined

Umbria Residential Fit Out Projects

Tucked away in the soft hills near Cortona, the Casolare Madonna del Bagno is being lovingly brought back to life as a retreat where every moment feels timeless.

This isn’t simply a renovation of old stone walls—it is the making of a home where family and friends will gather, where stories will be told over long tables, and where evenings will be carried by the glow of the Tuscan sunset.

Here, olive groves stretch out towards the horizon, cypress trees rise proudly against the sky, and the rolling hills of Umbria and Tuscany merge into a view that seems painted by hand. It is a setting steeped in history, yet the vision for the Casolare is rooted in the present: blending rustic charm with the lightness, air, and comfort that make a house truly lived in.

A Home Filled with Light and Warmth

Once a traditional farmhouse, the Casolare is being gently reimagined so that every corner feels welcoming. The ground floor will open its arms with spaces designed for conversation and comfort—rooms where laughter can spill from the kitchen to the dining table, and out through wide glass doors onto the terrace beyond. Upstairs, bedrooms will be havens of quiet, each one filled with soft light and views that frame the beauty of the countryside.

The balance is delicate: honouring the home’s heritage while allowing it to breathe anew. High ceilings give air and openness, while windows and doors invite in the sun and the scents of the garden. Every detail is chosen to keep the soul of the farmhouse alive, while making it a place that feels as effortless as it is beautiful.

A Landscape Made for Living

Around the Casolare, the landscape becomes part of daily life. Pathways meander through gardens towards a wide swimming pool, the promise of long summer days spent in the water and evenings lingering by the edge. A gazebo and shaded corners will offer quiet places to rest, while the pergola—linked directly to the kitchen—will be the beating heart of the outdoors. Here, under climbing vines, evenings will unfold with candlelight, laughter, and glasses raised to the setting sun.

Cypress trees will stand like guardians along the edge of the property, olive trees will root the garden in Tuscan tradition, and every planting will be chosen to echo the natural beauty of the land. Even practical touches—like lighting, irrigation, and parking—are designed so discreetly that they never interrupt the poetry of the landscape.
