Design-Led Approach

RVA’s design process began with an in-depth understanding of how the family lives, moves, and connects within the home. The brief focused on openness and flexibility, creating social spaces for togetherness alongside calm, private retreats. Every element — from spatial planning to material selection — was carefully considered to ensure a cohesive design language throughout.

Ground Floor Transformation

The ground floor was completely reconfigured to form a generous open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area — now the true heart of the home. Spatial boundaries were removed to enhance flow and maximise daylight, creating an inviting environment for family life and entertaining. A bespoke kitchen anchors the space, seamlessly integrated into the wider living area.

A dedicated reading nook was introduced as a quieter counterpoint to the open plan, offering a versatile and intimate space for both adults and children.

First Floor & Private Spaces

Upstairs, the principal bedroom was redesigned as a calm and elegant retreat, prioritising comfort, storage, and a sense of order. The children’s bedrooms were individually reworked to be adaptable and future-proof, supporting play, rest, and study as the family grows.

Loft Conversion

The previously unused loft was transformed into a flexible living space, adding both value and functionality. Careful attention was given to proportions, head height, and integrated storage, ensuring the space feels bright, purposeful, and fully connected to the rest of the home.
