Umbria architects · Restoration since 1983

An architecture and renovation firm in Umbria

We guide you through every stage of bringing an Umbrian home to life, from the first survey to the day you move in. Design, permission, construction and aftercare are taken care of by a single team, so even a complex restoration stays straightforward.

Riccardo Vicarelli Architects (RVA) is an architecture and design & build practice founded in Perugia in 1983. The studio restores country houses, villas and historic homes across Umbria, managing surveys, permissions, construction and aftercare for international clients, in English and Italian.

Our difference

Umbria’s design and build experts

Four decades of working in Umbria means we know its architecture, its planning offices and the way things get built here. Most of our clients are based abroad, so projects are run remotely, in both English or Italian, with the same Italian touch applied whether you’re on site or watching from another country.

Bringing Umbrian homes back to life

Umbria casale restoration

We restore casali, the old stone country houses that give this region its magical character. We start by assessing what the building can take, then handle the drawings, the permissions, the craftsmen and the site, through to the day we hand you the keys to call it home.

Trusted local expertise

Close, even from far away

A single team sees the project through, so nothing gets lost between the drafting and the building. Most of our clients are abroad while the work happens, and wherever you are, every decision reaches you clearly, in both English or Italian.

We coordinate with consultants, artisans and site teams, so you have the peace of mind to relax while your dream home becomes reality.
