Our team of trusted commercial architecture and interior design experts specialise in working with high-end, luxury retailers. We have already collaborated with a handful of premium designer brands, helping them to completely overhaul their in-store experience for customers through bespoke fit out projects.

Want to understand how reimagining your own commercial space could help you to boost the appeal of your brand, and attract new customers? We’re using one of our latest design and build projects to illustrate some of the most impactful benefits of this process – read on to find out more, 0r take a look at The Hour Dress case study.

Capturing your up-to date brand aesthetic

One of the most frequent starting points for the retailers that we work with is that their commercial spaces don’t reflect their brand aesthetic or identity. Whether the actual space itself has become outdated in terms of design and layout, or if the brand styling has changed and this hasn’t been reflected in-store, it all serves to create disparity for shoppers. In the luxury retail space, aesthetics matter, and the most important reason for this is the way that they solidify your brand identity. If the space that you welcome customers into doesn’t showcase your brand in the most up-to-date light, then it’s time for a redesign.

This is one of the factors that The Hour Dress wanted our project management team to prioritise when they started their design and build project with us in City Walk, Dubai. They knew that the modern, sophisticated appearance that they wanted wasn’t being communicated effectively through the current interior design choices and layout, so we needed to start from the beginning and revamp the space for the brand.

Creating a personalised experience for your customers

The luxury retail sector has found plenty of ways to embrace personalisation, and it serves to create connection between the customer and the brand. The Hour Dress has a unique commitment to giving its customers personalised touches, as every garment for rental is altered by an in-house seamstress, ensuring a perfect fit. As part of their commercial fit-out project with us, they wanted to make sure that this element of their service could be clearly accommodated within their new store.

In our design proposal for The Hour Dress, we created a dedicated area for the seamstress, ensuring that there was enough room for working with some of the more substantial garments! Personalisation is another factor that luxury brands can utilise to set themselves apart within the industry, and the way your brand approaches it can be incorporated into the physical design of your retail space.

Integrating technology to create an immersive environment

Luxury brands have led the way when it comes to finding ways to create immersive experiences through technology. We’ve seen a significant increase in the usage of AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) in stores, used to give customers an experimental, branded experience. From showing off the latest products on digital screens, to designing fixtures for in-store virtual try-on experiences, our team can create designs to accommodate the technology that you need to ensure your customers in-store experience is captivating and memorable.

Bespoke layouts for maximum appeal

Customers are constantly looking for more ‘wow-factor’ from the brands that are synonymous with high-end culture, and this can be embodied by making careful considerations when creating a retail space. The Hour Dress wanted to use features such as their store fitting rooms to add to the quality of in-store customer experiences, and they needed a purpose-built area for their bridal service.

We used our revised floor plan to distinguish the fitting rooms from the rest of the space, creating a clear boundary between the front sales space. We also designed an area that would be used for bridal consultations, giving the customer and their loved ones a spacious, welcoming area to get together in for an extra-special shopping trip.

When it comes to planning a bespoke layout for a commercial space, we ask our clients to keep their customers at the forefront of their aims – how will the new layout serve visitors to your store? This way, we are able to propose plans that are designed with your customers in mind, brought to life by our bespoke joinery service. We designed a custom curved architectural divider for The Hour Dress, serving to create the boundary that we’d hoped to achieve, while also acting as a point of visual intrigue.
